Needed a rest day after the last two days of physical activity. Emily and I went to the chili cookoff on the commons where she was nearly recruited by the local cult. Believe it or not, Longview's cashew chili was my favorite, beating out Moosewood, Greenstar, Thai Cuisine and a bunch of other likely competitors. I'll bet Longview doesn't give their senior citizens anything that spicy. Departing the commons, I was off to Melissa and Adam's house for dinner and a game night. We played Qwirkle, a cross between Scrabble and Set. Fun game, and quick to learn. After everyone else went to sleep, Adam and I played poker for two hours. Excellent rest day.
