Rock Climbing --- 10/21/2007 --- Gunks

Day trip with Kristin and Aramy. We started off with Aramy's excellent lead of Arch Direct (aka Wick's Banana) which is a really stellar climb. Kristin took us to the top by leading the upper pitch of wrist. Then we went to see if The Dangler was open. Unfortunately, it was, so I had to climb it. Kristin got us there with her graceful lead of Something Interesting. Then I attempted The Dangler. It completely spit me off. I ended up aiding the line until deciding it was a waste of time and leading the 5.6 finish to Three Pines instead. I think I could climb The Dangler on toprope, but placing gear while hanging is really, really hard.

We finished the day at Retribution. Have I done that climb every single trip this season? I led it with one fall, which was disappointing. But on this lead I realized that I can actually redpoint the climb. I'm now certain it will go. One of these days...
