Rock Climbing --- 10/8/2005 - 10/11/2005 --- Gunks

Fall break class at the Gunks. Climbing in the rain! I came down a day late, but didn't miss much because of the pouring rain. Sunday we set a pipeline on Jackie and the second pitch of Classic. I taught rope ascension at the base of the climb. Monday I led Taro and Yosuke up Strictly/Shockely. Terrified me because it was seeping wet at most of the crux moves. We came down, then did Bunny to set a toprope on Retribution. Jason was enjoying an epic on Minty, so the rest of us climbed Retribution until well after dark. Tuesday the weather improved a smidge. I took Alina and Katie up Beginner's Delight, then they toproped Snooky's after we rappelled.

This trip had many fiascoes -- the rain, OBR's broken van, flooded roads, Jen's missing wallet, our missing food. Still, I had more belly laughs than any previous class. Soap stories, Ryan's organ, and hanging out with the Gunks/OBR i-teams almost made up for the rain rain rain. Helllloooo!
