Lance! Don't chew on the rope!

The rope was cut while lowering off a toprope anchor (Lance was innocent). This led to my favorite belay expression, "Hang on, I have to take you off belay for a minute. The dog is chewing on the rope again." Always said to a climber (with a good sense of humor) at the crux of a climb.    Comus, MD -- 10/28/2000
